Getting Started:
Q: I signed up. What now?
A: Welcome to Raceslip! Step one is to add your vehicle to your garage. Step two is to head to a supported track, check-in, and race!
Q: What is check-in and what is it for?
A: The check-in process lets us know where you are racing. Once you've checked-in at a Raceslip supported track, our system can determine which timeslips are yours.
Q: Can you explain how the check-in process works?
A: Sure! There are two methods:
Express Check-in
- This is the preferred method.
- Go to a Raceslip-supported track and pay at the gate as usual.
- Go through technical inspection (tech-in) and get a number assigned to your car.
- Make your first pass and be sure to get your timeslip.
- Then, you can do one of the following:
Website Option Texting Option - Log-in to Raceslip.com on your mobile device.
- Click on “Tracks” at the top of the page, then select the track where you are racing.
- Click the “Check-in” button, then enter your vehicle number and 60' time from your timeslip.
- Send a text message to Raceslip (832.460.4710) stating your track’s keyword, your assigned number, and your 60' time from your timeslip. For example: “Denton 3423 1.785” without the quotes.
- Note: Keywords for each track can be found on each track's Raceslip page.
- Log-in to Raceslip.com on your mobile device.
- You will receive a text message that check-in is complete.
- You then race as usual, and your results are instantly posted to your Raceslip account.
Classic Check-in
- Classic check-in will be phased out in the coming months.
- Go to a Raceslip-supported track and pay at the gate as usual.
- Go through technical inspection (tech-in) and get a number assigned to your car.
- Send a text message to Raceslip (832.460.4710) stating your track’s keyword, followed by a space, and then your assigned number (Example: “Denton 3423”).
Note: Keywords for each track can be found on each track's Raceslip page. - You will receive a text message that the check-in process has been started.
- The tower then confirms that your check-in request matches your tech-in card.
- You will receive a text message that check-in is complete.
- You then race as usual, and your results are instantly posted to your Raceslip account.
General Questions:
Q: Which tracks are supported?
A: Since we're a Dallas/Fort Worth-based company, we are launching with Dallas/Fort Worth tracks.
The following tracks are fully operational:
- North Star Dragway - Denton, Texas
- Redline Raceway - Caddo Mills, Texas
Q: My favorite track isn't listed. What now?
A: Dallas/Fort Worth is just the beginning. Ask your local track to support Raceslip!
Q: I have more than one vehicle on Raceslip. How do I specify which one I'm driving?
A: There are three ways of doing this:
1) Check-in using our website with Express Check-in.
2) Make the vehicle you are about to drive/race your default car by "starring" it in your garage. Then check-in to your track of choice as usual.
3) When you check-in, include the model of the vehicle you are driving, and we'll check in the closest match. For example, "Denton 1234 Mustang." If we can't decide which of your vehicles you're driving, we'll check-in your default vehicle.
Note: This method is unsupported when using Express Check-in via texting. Check-in through our website if you want to use Express Check-in and your want to specify a vehicle other than your default.
Q: I lost my password. How do I reset it?
A: Using the cell phone that is linked with your Raceslip account, send a text message to Raceslip (832-460-4710) stating "Lost Password." We will send you a new temporary password.
Q: Is there an iPhone or Android app available?
A: Not yet, but it's in the works!
Q: How do I automatically add my friends from Facebook?
A: Our Facebook integration feature brings all your Facebook friends to Raceslip (if they use Raceslip, of course). It also allows your status updates and track check-ins to be posted automatically from Raceslip to Facebook! To opt in, log-in and go to "Settings" at the top of your Raceslip page and enable the Facebook Integration option at the bottom.
Q: How can I get the latest news and updates from Raceslip?
A: Keep track of us by following our social media pages: Facebook and Twitter.
Q: Where can I get information about advertising and/or sponsorships with Raceslip?
A: At the moment, we are focused on successfully rolling out Raceslip.com, so we are currently creating a waiting list for those interested in working with us. Shoot us an email with your details at marketing@raceslip.com and we'll be in touch with advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
Q: Why is this FAQ so short? I still have questions!
A: Sorry! We're a work in progress. Try heading over to the help section of the forums. Someone else may have already had the same question. But if not, feel free to start a thread.
Challenges and Points:
Q: What is a "Heads-up" challenge?
A: A "Heads-up" challenge is a traditional race between two cars at the same time. The race takes place simultaneously at a Raceslip-supported track. This is a single race with a single timeslip (both cars on one timeslip). Either car can be in either lane. The winner is determined by the "WIN" or "WINNER" designation on the timeslip.
Q: What is a "Virtual Heads-up" challenge?
A: A "Virtual Heads-up" challenge is similar to a "Heads-up" challenge, but the race doesn't have to take place at the same time or even at the same track. The winner is determined by comparing the reaction time and elapsed time (E/T) from the two timeslips and calculating the winner. And, of course, a red light will disqualify you from winning.
Q: What is a "Virtual Best E/T" challenge?
A: A "Virtual Best E/T" challenge also can take place at different times and/or at different tracks. The only metric used to determine the winner is the E/T (elapsed time). Red light and reaction time do not influence who wins.
Q: What is a "Virtual Best MPH" challenge?
A: Like the "Virtual Best E/T" challenge, a "Virtual Best MPH" challenge can take place at different times and/or at different tracks. The only metric used to determine the winner is the MPH (Mile Per Hour).
Q: How are points awarded?
A: Points are awarded for the following:
- Checking-in at a track: 250 points
- Making a pass: 75 points
- Making a pass and winning: 100 points
- Winning a challenge: 150 to 500 points, depending on number of votes
- Voting on a friend's challenge and winning: 37 to 125 points, depending on number of votes
Q: How are wins awarded?
A: Wins are the number of Raceslip challenges that you have won. Beating someone at the track will earn you points, but unless you win a Raceslip challenge, you will not be awarded wins.
